Sample Itinerary
Two Weeks in the south of the French Riviera
Day 1: Begin your trip on board a luxurious motor yacht in Nice and set sail immediately for St Tropez. Get to know your yacht and enjoy a leisurely lunch on board during the approximate 3 hour journey.
Day 2: In the morning sail to Iles d’Hyeres known as the Golden Isles. Drop anchor at the scenic Ile de Porquerolles with its bays bordered by heather, scented myrtles and pines trees. A perfect location for snorkeling, this is an underwater reserve with protected marine life where the water is teeming with fish.
Day 3: Enjoy the coastal voyage of just over three hours to the pine forested Iles de Lerins. Both Ile St Honorat and Ile St Marguerite offer peaceful coves for swimming and snorkeling but for those in the mood for some sightseeing the Man in the Iron Mask would probably still recognize these pedestrianised islands specifically the former with its 5th Century Cistercian Abbey.
Day 4: Drop anchor in the morning in Bay of Villefranche, an idyllic town in an outstanding setting – a natural amphitheatre overlooking a protected bay. Wander around the 13th century maze of narrow streets. Visit the picturesque, dramatically perched village of Eze, before cocktails at the Grand Hotel Cap Ferrat. Set below tumbling, subtropical gardens, the 20th century palace is located at the tip of the peninsula.
Day 5:
Drop anchor outside the famous Principality of Monaco. Venture up to the Grimaldi Royal Palace and explore the boutiques of Monte Carlo.
Day 6:
Arrive Portofino in the morning. This small Italian city located in the province of Genoa on the Italian Riviera is considered to be among the most beautiful Mediterranean ports.
Day 7:
The crossing to Corsica will take approximately 8 hours. The Captain will aim to be in Calvi in the morning around 10 am. Corsica is stunning and Calvi is the Mediterranean at its most perfect; a colourful array of buildings, cobbled streets climbing up to a Genoese Citadel, harbourside cafes and restaurants and a pine fringed crescent of silver sand stretching as far as the eye can see.
Day 8:
During breakfast enjoy the spectacular views while cruising down the coast to La Girolata. This is one of Corsica’s National Parks. Swimming and snorkeling are a must.
Day 9:
Arrive at around 09:00 hrs in the the Gulf of Valinco, debated to be the most beautiful gulf on the west coast of the island and another great region to explore. At the eastern end is the principal town of the region, Propriano, which has developed from a sleepy fishing community to a bustling resort.
Day 10:
After a morning swim set sail for your next stop. A narrow entrance hidden at the foot of cliffs opens into the harbour of the ancient fortress town of Bonifacio. Its superb location on a narrow peninsula of dazzling white limestone at Corsica's southernmost point creates a town site unlike any other on the island.
Day 11:
We would suggest that the journey from Bonifacio to Budelli Island is done once every one is awake so that the journey through the Bonifacio straights can be enjoyed. Budelli has one of Italy's most enchanting beaches and is famous for its pink sand produced by the coral shattered by the raging sea.
Day 12:
The trip from Budelli to Porto Cervo is another journey to be savoured. So this hour long journey should also be taken once the guests are all up. The route wends its way behind the myriad of little islands of the Maddalena Archipelago where the sea is always so calm it is like crossing a lake. Crystal clear waters, pink sand, a series of coves and rocks, blue cliffs rising from deep seabeds, intense colours not to be missed.
Day 13:
Departure from Port Cervo is every bit as exciting as arrival. Head south, admiring the stunning villas along the coast to the large bay of Cala de Volpe. The sea is an unbelievable blue while superb sandy beaches fringe the whole bay. Drop anchor, toys down and enjoy this beautiful bay.
Day 14:
The Captain will make sure that the five hour journey will be in the early hours so that when you awake you will find yourselves in Cala Gonnone. Gonnone is known for its mysterious and enchanting caves (Bue Marino – “Sea Ox”). Some of the best rock climbing in Europe is found here as well, a great chance to take climbing lessons with trained guides.
Day 15:
Set sail in the early hours and cruise over night to arrive in Olbia for 12 am disembarkation.
